    Early Louis XV Royal presentation gold and enamel mounted tortoiseshell box with ruby and diamond monogram of Louis XV, King of France, and his consort, Maria Leszczyńska, of shaped rectangular form, the cover and base each with tortoiseshell panel, the monogram applied to the cover formed by a ruby set and diamond set interlaced scroll, the base inlaid with gold piqué point trophies of love, the sides chased with trailing flowers highlighted with pink, white and green enamelling to a sablé ground, the front panel centred by a diamond set fan shaped shell, further diamonds along the thumb piece, the flange inscribed: ’Rondet aux Galleries, opening to reveal two oval portrait miniatures to the lid interior of Louis XV and Maria Leszczyńska by Jean-Baptiste Massé, the King wearing an ermine cloak and the Queen wearing a lace trimmed amber-coloured dress.
