Gold rectangular snuffbox with bevelled corners and a hinged lid. An octagonal gouache miniature under glass "La Comedie au Village", depicting wandering comedians presenting a performance in the village is on the lid. The case is decorated with gold relief floral ornament, panels covered with dark blue translucent enamel over guilloche background with wavy ornament and gouache miniatures depicting pastoral scenes under glass.
