    Marks: firm – "JET" (J.E. Terrey & Co.); sterling standard (925) – walking lion with raised forepaw in rectangular shield with beveled upper corners and pointed lower tip; duty mark – profile of George IV in an oval; date in the form of letter "K" in rectangular shield with beveled upper corners and rounded lower part corresponds to 1825-1826; city mark – leopard's head in an oval with clipped upper corners and rounded lower part (London)

    A gilt-silver wine cooler in the shape of a crater, with two handles, supported by four feet on a four-lobed stepped base with chamfered corners. The body lower section is decorated with alternating fluted gadroons and wheat ears; the middle section features a relief composition depicting Bacchus returning in triumph and encountering the sleeping Ariadne; the upper section is adorned with a grapevine frieze of leaves and fruit. The flared rim is decorated with a band of egg-and-dart and bead-and-reel patterns. The handles are fashioned as cornucopias overflowing with fruit. The feet feature half-figures of atlantes at the top, ending in lion's paws at the bottom. The base is adorned at the edge with two friezes of foliate ornament
