Ivan Svechnikov (Sveshnikov), the artisan from Tula, made the box. He created his works following the traditions of the Tula art steel production of the late 18th - early 19th centuries. Practically until the end of the 19th century - the Tula armorers family of Svechnikov, known since the late 18th century, created traditional household (the so-called "particular") art products from steel, copying the samples of the turn of the century both in the form and decor. Similar samples were presented by Ivan Svechnikov at the All-Russian Art and Industrial Exhibition in Moscow of 1882, where the master received the especial award, which gave him the right to place its image on his products.
