The foreground depicts sailing boats, huts by the water, and coastal vegetation. The reverse side shows silhouettes of people on the shore, the ruins of a classical arch, and ship masts in the distance. The surface of the vase is adorned with gilded shell-shaped appliqués resembling sea pebbles. The upper rim is highlighted with gold border.
