Prior to the beginning of an official part of Gala evening guests communicated with each other and walked through the halls of the historical building in which the Embassy is located — a mansion of the industrialist Sergey Berg. All rooms are decorated in different styles. Berg bought the land in Khamovniki from writer Zagoskin in the end of XIX century to build the estate, he called the architect Piotr Boytsov. The industrialist was passionately carried away by Italian culture and he set the following task to the architect: exterior and interior of the premises should reflect styles of two epochs — the Italian baroque and the Renaissance.
