Our new video clip will introduce you to the collection of art crystal and glass products in the museum Collection exposition. The collection is the integral whole, it fully reflects the style of the era and the national school traditions. Items made of crystal and glass in silver setting are stunning with refinement, elegance, exquisite taste and the highest quality. The showcases feature products made by the leading glass factories and workshops operating on the territory of the Russian Empire at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries.
It is worth mentioning that since the middle of the 19th century, crystal products became the important part of everyday life in the country - they were used for table setting, especially for festive dinners. The widespread use of crystal glassware was associated with the peculiarities of national hospitality - dinners were famous for the luxury of the table decoration, the interior, the richness of tableware and the abundance of food and drinks. The collection features works by the prominent firms of the late 19th – early 20th centuries, the Imperil court suppliers. These were the firms and enterprises of Karl Bolin, Ivan Khlebnikov,Pavel Ovchinnikov,Ignatiy Sazikov and, of course, the leading enterprise of the Russian Empire - the firm of Сarl Faberge.
