In 2019 we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of birth of Ivan Khlebnikov, the founder of the leading Moscow jewelry firm

This year we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Petrovich Khlebnikov - the patriarch of the dynasty of Moscow jewelers and the founder of one of the leading Moscow jewelry firms - Ivan Khlebnikov, Sons and Co. Partnership, which produced the most diverse articles - from silverware to jewelry and interior decoration of the Kremlin cathedrals.

Almost from the first years of the company's existence, its production was widely recognized. The company was known for implementing full variety of jewelry techniques, and its products were always been in great demand.

The objects that are stored in the Museum Collection fairly fully reflects the variety of types of silver products that existed in the Russian society at the end of the 19th – the beginning of the 20th centuries. The most numerous part of the collection is dinnerware – tea, coffee, dinner sets and cutlery, breadbaskets, saltcellars and travel kits. Another group of objects consists of the objects for interior decoration - vases and writing sets. And the third part is comprised of personal items - cigarette cases, handbags and jewelry.

For the 200th jubilee of Ivan Petrovich Khlebnikov, we have prepared a thematic album with the photos of items created by the famous jeweler.

Biography of I.P. Khlebnikov is in the section AUTHORS.
