Box in metal rectangular case with rounded goldish color vertical ribs with geometric ornament and blue enamel panels in white and goldish frames. Oval medallions with polychrome enamel images of mountain landscapes with water reservoirs in the foreground in the frames with engraved ornament are on lateral sides. Blue enamel stripe with wavy goldish line and dots is above medallions. Enamel image of lambs is on the right-hand side and pedestal with wellspring and water streamlet is on the left-hand side. Oval hole, rimmed by embossed frame with ornament and closed by the hinged lid with enamel image of two girls in pretty dresses sitting on a hillock, and a lamb in the frame with geometric ornament is in the top panel center. One girl is holding the open book in her hands. The lid inner side is gilded and mirror polished. Engraved ornament in the form of dashed straight and wavy lines, a hole with winding pin, the manufacturer mark and inscriptions are on the case bottom panel. Sliding goldish lever with wavy ornament for turning on/off the bird’s mechanism is on the front panel top. When the movement is activated, the oval lid opens, and miniature bird in painted black, red and yellow feathers appears. It swirls in place, flaps its wings opens and closes the beak. The sound movement imitates bird chirping. When the winding is finished, the bird hides in hollow under openwork lattice and the lid is closed.
The
bird movement is spring driven with fusee - system of the movement stabilization.
