Singing bird snuffbox in gold rectangular body with rounded vertical ribs with engraving in the form of vases with flowers and two hinged lids. Top panel is decorated with guilloche field in the form of square windows with bindings in a frame of engraved leaves and flowers ornament with turquoise inserts. An oval aperture in the frame of half pearls closed by a hinged lid with engraved leaves and inserted turquoise flowers ornament on the repousse background is in the center of the top panel. The lid inner surface is mirror polished. Engine-turned field in the form of square windows with bindings in a frame of engraved leaves and flowers ornament, an aperture for a spring winding with an arrow showing the direction of rotation are on the bottom panel. Engine-turned field on the lateral sides’ panel is framed by engraved leafy ornament. A hinged lid that closes the polished inner compartment for tobacco with the marks on the right welt is on the rear side. A start / stop button the form of a slotted screw is on the front panel right side top. When the bird's movement is turned on, the oval lid opens and a miniature bird in painted feathers appears. It swirls in place, flaps its wings, turns the head, opens and closes the beak. The sound movement imitates bird chirping. At the end of the program, the bird hides in a deepening in a guilloche field with a scalloped edge and apertures for sound output. The lid is closed. Bird’s movement with a spring motor and a fusee. The snuffbox is stored in a box covered with embossed Bordeaux-colored leather with a button, the inner surface is covered with dark red velvet, the lid - with white satin. An impress of the seller's stamp is on it.
