Letters "М" and "S" near the switch, Master's mark is inside: "HN" in a horizontal lozenge and "MG" in the circle.
Snuffbox in rectangular gold case with rounded vertical ribs and a hinged lid; with central hexagonal cartouche of a shield surrounded by laurel-leaf swags and stylized flower heads bearing cobalt blue highlights, intermediate panel of chased diamond ground. Border and lid welts with tooled geometric leaf swags and roundels with further blue highlights on petit-point ground, rounded corners with urn sur le-stande within chevron frame, diamond ground on front back and side panels, and matching lid panel to underside, winding spindle lid opened by sliding button across. With the suspended sur-plateau movement playing a single tune, 16 single teeth on one side, 15 teeth on the other on plain brass bedplate, quadruple-gear run-down governor, in gold case with highly polished interior. With a key, in original dark red leather-clad travelling case.
