Snuffbox in rectangular gold case with rounded vertical ribs, a hinged lid and two winding keys. Its upper and bottom sides are decorated with engine-turned panels and dark-blue champlevé enamel. The lid with an oval central medallion with music trophy. The inner surface of the snuffbox is smooth, polished and with a master’s mark. The side surfaces are decorated with guilloche panels in narrow blue enamel frames. Rounded corners are engraved with flowers and leaves. An aperture for the winding key is on the bottom side. A sliding button on the rear side of the case activates the musical movement with a sound comb and a programmed cylinder for five tunes. The button on the front side switches the tunes. A paper label indicating the master, place and time of manufacturing is attached.
