    The clock is mounted in polished gilded bronze case with bevelled polished edges on the front side and onlay embossed ornament; with protruding leafy moulding on the socle, with foliage ornament along the top edge and on four supports with embossed pattern. figure of John the Baptist (the Apostle) as an infant sitting on a stone, a fur skin covering his knees, a reed cross in his hands, looking at a lamb lying nearby (a symbol of the Son of God). Polished ring-shaped dial with Roman numerals and minutes’ divisions, with two apertures with pins for winding the clockwork and strike on the rosette in the ribbed frame center, escapement adjustment pin on bezel with orderly ornament, with two ornately shaped blued steel hands is on the front panel. The dial is bordered with a wreath of intertwining ribbed stripes, scrolls and leaves. Round aperture is in the case rear side, the movement is visible behind it, a lentil-shaped mark with the inscription: “S: WEHL / ST. PETERSBURG” is beneath. The clock mechanism is pendulum on spring suspension, with half an hour strike of hummer upon bell, with lever escapement and two spring motors. The winding key is in the set.
