The clock's quarters striking was created by William Crotches in 1780 on one of the arias of Handel. Lord Hromtrop heard the chimes of the Church "St. Mary the Great" in Cambridge and started to use this stroke in large chimes of Westminster. Carriage clock with "Cambridge" stroke are extremely rare. Very similar watch with the brand mark Breguet No. 5121 was sold at auction in Geneva in 1996.
