Piano music roll 28.58 cm wide is reeled on the spool with American standard plastic flanges (with guiding grooves for fixing in the drive mechanism – spool box). The roll leader with triangular cut, with the end glued with grey color leatherette with metal wire ring. On the cut field surface: artistic vignette with texts, portraits of the performer, composer and 18-year-old Countess Giulietta Guicciardi, whom Beethoven taught music in 1801, was in love with and dedicated the sonata to her. The label indicating the catalog number, title of the work, the composer and the performer, label with authorization and the pianist and the piano music rolls series compiler autographs is beneath. The instructions for installing paper music roll, lists of committees to promote music education using music recordings on piano music rolls DUO-ART and 'PIANOLA' in various countries are in the texts, the lists of schools and universities, in the educational process of which musical recordings music rolls are implemented and facsimile reproduction of the musical notation of the first twelve bars of the sonata written by Beethoven are in the texts.
The music roll contains pinned perforation – the encoded recording of a sequence of control actions for musical instrument to reproduce the melody - Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor, op. 27, No. 2 (Moonlight Sonata) by the German pianist and composer Ludwig van Beethoven (12.1770-26.03.1827) performed by Josef Hofmann (20.01.1876-16.02.1957) - American pianist and composer. The sonata was written in 1801-1802, first published in March 1802.
The music roll is stored in the parallelepiped-shaped box made of cardboard, comprised of bottom and cover, pasted over with black binding material. The label similar to the label on the roll is on cover flat end. The sticker with information of the paper music rolls’ library “New Aeolian Library” in the frame is on the cover upper side.
