On the front side of the frame: “Stenophon”; number on the spindle: 1144.
Mechanism is mounted on a cast-iron frame fixed to a rectangular wooden base resting on four triangular feet. The apparatus is enclosed by a sarcophagus-shaped plywood cover fitted with a handle and a lock. The device is used for erasing (shaving) recordings from wax phonograph cylinders. The set includes a drive handle, a cover lock key, a cover, and two trays.
