The automaton, fashioned as two monkeys dressed as a lady and a gentleman engaged in polite conversation, is mounted on oval black-lacquered wooden base raised on circular turned feet.
When the automaton is switched on, the figures come to life: the lady raises her right hand holding bouquet, while the gentleman brings glass to his mouth and moves his right arm. The heads of both figures turn and nod, their lips open and close, and their eyes move. A winding key and protective glass dome are in the set.
