The automaton depicts a figure of a girl holding a powder puff in her right hand and a mirror in her left. The figure is mounted on a rectangular flat base covered with olive-colored velvet featuring a bossed pattern. The girl wears a dress made of pink patterned silk with a full skirt gathered in large folds at the back. The cuffs and neckline are trimmed with lace. The front of the dress is gathered in vertical folds and tucks. Over the dress, she wears a jacket made of the same fabric with a wide circular collar and puffed sleeves. The fabric of the petticoat is decorated with cutwork (Richelieu) embroidery.A musical mechanism with a program cylinder for two melodies and a musical comb, alongside a cam mechanism controlling the automaton, is mounted inside the figure. Built-in winding key and start button are located on the right side of the body. When the mechanism is turned on, the figure is set in motion. The head turns to the right, the right hand rises and rubs the cheeks with the powder puff several times. Then the right hand lowers, the head turns and tilts toward the raised left hand holding the mirror. The movements are accompanied by the sounds of the musical mechanism.
