The automaton in the form of a male figure in Chinese attire, mounted on a rectangular wooden base covered with paper featuring red squares, and a frame with a geometric pattern on the front edge. The spring-driven control mechanism is housed inside the torso, which features a winding pin hole and an arrow indicating the direction to turn the key. When the mechanism is activated, the Chinese man turns his head from side to side, lowers and raises it, brings the cup to his mouth, and moves his wrist to tilt the cup to replicate drinking tea, while his left hand holding the saucer slightly raises and lowers.
