Musical automaton in the form of a swarthy young man figure in oriental clothes is mounted on wooden stand with gray velvet cape trimmed with braid. The young man sits on a pillow, cross-legged in embroidered shoes with curved noses. His head, arms and feet are made of biscuit, brown glass eyes, mouth half-open; a turban of blue striped and beige fabric is on his head. It is fastened with a brooch with yellow cabochon. He is dressed in blue silk shirt, with frill with braid on the collar, puff sleeves decorated with red ribbon pattern cuffs, brocade golden-blue vest, dark red silk harem trousers cut below the knees with metal gimp ornament. Metal gimp decoration is on golden wide belt. The young man holds a mouthpiece in his right hand and a fan made of feathers with ivory handle in his left one.
The control mechanism and the musical movement with pinned cylinder for one tune, sound comb and spring motor are mounted in the stand. Winding key and sliding start/stop lever are on the rear side. When the movement is turned on, the melody sounds, the smoker turns and tilts his head several times, raises his right hand, brings the mouthpiece to his mouth, as if he inhales and exhales the smoke and fan himself, waving his left hand.
