The clock is enclosed in a wooden casing veneered with walnut shpon and mounted on a plinth with carved ornament and a profiled base on four supports. The finial is formed by the clock movement case flanked by turned columns and decorated with a masqueron. The dome of the clock is crowned with a decorative torch and two small turrets on the sides.
The musical mechanism plays a melody coded on a metal disc with a diameter of 48.5 cm; the mechanism stops automatically. The casing serves as a resonator. Included in the set is a disc with the melody of the military song “Break the News to Mother” by the American composer Charles Kassel Harris (01.05.1867–22.12.1930), a handle, and a key.
