The music box is mounted in a vertical rectangular wooden case finished with precious woods. The case standing on low legs consists of two parts – the upper one housing the musical mechanism, and the lower one serving as storage for interchangeable program disks. Between them is a pull-out drawer with a cast handle-bracket shaped as two dolphins. The facade of the upper part features a door with an arched glazed window. Above the arch are two triangular acoustic windows covered with openwork wooden grilles.
After the engine is wound up and a coin is inserted, the disk mounted on an axle and secured by a pressure bar begins to rotate. The pins on the back side of the disk cause the teeth of the sound comb and bells to sound in a specific sequence. The set includes a winding crank and three keys.
