At 46 centimeters high, a substantial size for cabinet sculpture, the statuette has a strong presence, while the marble base gives the composition stability. Alfred Brandel's signature connects the work with Berlin's artistic milieu of the 1920s, when Art Nouveau sculpture was gradually giving way to Art Deco forms.
