On a flat, rectangular base with canted corners and a convex, textured terrain representing rough, stony ground, is a sculptural depiction of a young warrior. He wears a tunic (gimnasterka) and a peaked cap, with an empty rifle case slung across his shoulders and a shashka (saber) at his side. He aims a rifle at a target, leaning against the saddle of a horse lying in front of him, with its legs drawn in and its head lowered to the ground.
