Young lamb
1912
Bronze; casting, patination, chasing
53 x 24 x 42 cm
On the base: Paul Troubetzkoy//1912// copyright sign "How can you eat me?" – With this title the work was exhibited in 1912 in Chicago
Troubetzkoy was a consistent vegetarian. One of his few genre works was a composition dedicated to this topic, with vivid and bewildering title "Corpse Eaters (Scavengers)".
The sculpture "Lamb" continues the
theme of protecting animals from people's gastronomic addictions, but without
unnecessary details in the composition.
