The scenes are arranged in two rows, with two of them bearing inscriptions. In the upper section of the sheet, shifted to the left, is a circular medallion depicting the double-headed eagle—the coat of arms of the Russian Empire; to its right is an inscription executed in gold paint: “5 Février 1889.”Two cartouches are located in the upper part of the sheet. The smaller, left cartouche depicts Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna conversing with a gentleman. The right one, inscribed in French “Les Spéciaux de Sa Majesté l’Impératrice” (translated as: The Specials of Her Majesty the Empress), depicts a scene in the Malachite Room, showing Empress Maria Feodorovna from the back, conversing with gentlemen. The cartouche in the lower part of the sheet, inscribed “Les Spéciaux de Sa Majesté l’Empereur” (translated from French as: The Specials of His Majesty the Emperor), depicts Emperor Alexander III in the right section, walking accompanied by an adjutant general on duty and a footman in gala uniform; the left section shows court ladies and gentlemen seated at a banquet table.
The author's signature and date are located in the lower-right section, beneath the cartouche: Зichy 89.
