Rectangular presentation snuffbox featuring painted enamels enclosed in gilded copper mount with a hinged lid. The exterior of the lid is painted with a depiction of the victory of the Russian Army under the command of General Count Ivan Petrovich Saltykov (1730–1805) over the Prussian forces at the Battle of Kunersdorf on August 12, 1759. The inner side of the lid features a portrait of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna (reigned 1741–1761) within a frame inscribed in Cyrillic: "God Save Elizabeth, Empress of All Russia". This cartouche is painted over banners, cannons, and muskets – symbols of her recent victory. Cannons and banners also decorate the box sides and bottom.
