Painted enamel miniatures separated by columns are set into the sides of the snuffbox. The lateral panels show map fragments ("MOREE", "PORT∙MAHON"). The front panel depicts a composition with the seated commander-in-chief and his retinue, with a group of Ottoman Turks kneeling before him. The back panel shows a scene of the Russians being welcomed in the harbour.
