Gold rectangular snuffbox with rounded sides and a hinged lid. Glazed oval miniature with the portrait of Ferdinand IV with a star of Order of St. Januarius is mounted on the lid. The snuffbox case is decorated with relief foliage ornament in the form of leaves' and flowers' curls; some of them are covered with opaque blue and dark blue enamel. Relief image of griffins with cornucopia in rectangle is on the on the snuffbox bottom.
Ferdinand IV (1751-1825) - King of Naples in 1759-1806, King of Sicily in 1806-1816 under the name of Ferdinand III, King of the Two Sicilies from December 8, 1816 under the name of Ferdinand I, son of the King of Spain Charles III and Maria-Amalia of Saxony.
The Order of St. Januarius was founded by the King of Two Sicilies, Charles IV (later, from 1738, he is the king of Spain under the name of Charles III).
