Gold rectangular snuffbox with rounded corners and a hinged lid. Rectangular plaque on the lid. It is decorated with polychrome painted enamel based on the paintings of Karl Vernet and depicting a scene of deer hunting in the forest, with hunters and hounds, with a castle in the background. The bottom and sides are decorated with relief foliate ornament of multicolor gold on matte background and with gold guilloche panels.
