Snuffbox in gold rectangular case, with beveled corners and a hinged lid. A plaquette made of polychrome painted enamel is on the lid. It depicts the Temple of Venus in Baalbek and peasants carrying hay in the background. The miniature is in gold embossed frame of stylized foliate patterns in the form of leaves and half-suns in the corners. The sides are decorated with rectangular guilloched panels with translucent dark blue enamel with pattern of flower heads and leaves. Images of cornucopias and blue enamel ovals are on the corners. The bottom is decorated with rectangular panel with guilloched surface covered with translucent dark blue enamel with the pattern in the form of flower heads and leaves, framed with chased stylized geometric ornament.
