Snuffbox of circular form, gold lid inserted with an oval panel of forest agate in brown, mustard and cream, within a band of beaded decoration on a matte ground, all surrounded by an identical bead border, with beaded rim and reeded hinge mount on an unusual solid agate bowl-shaped body, in authentic leather case. An engraved inscription  is on the welt: "Roucel. Orfe du Roy A Paris".
