A biconical cup with wide flared rim and three side handles. The smooth surface of the body features a presentation inscription ("To Persifor Frazer / April 7th 1904 // A.M. Univ. of Penna 1865 // Doc. Ces Sc. Univ. de France 1882") and lines from Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat: "Ah, fill the Cup! What boots it to repeat // How Time is slipping underneath our feet // Unborn Tomorrow and dead Yesterday // Why fret about them if Today be sweet". The C-scroll handles are fashioned as oak branches with leaves and acorns. The body is made of base (copper-base?) alloys with gilded interior; the handles are made of silver.
