A silver and partially gilded Neo-Gothic pedestal cup (chalice) featuring a hemispherical body raised on a twin-handled stand, a tall stem, and a circular base with scalloped rim. The body of the cup is decorated with relief medallions enclosing figures, with the surrounding fields filled with chased foliate ornament. The upper section of the body is adorned on two sides with the applied shaped shields framed by a leafy garland. The handles are fashioned as cast birds (possibly herons) connected to a stand by a pierced, shaped rim, which is further embellished with large amethysts, cast chimeras, and applied leaves.
