Round, wall-mounted panel platter with wide rim and smooth edge, made in the Russian style. A relief image of Prince Dmitry Donskoy surrounded by the carved inscription in stylised Old Russian script is in the centre of the platter, in a medallion: ‘VЄLIKI KNѦZI KNѦZI VSЄѦ RUSI DIMITRIY IѠAHHOOVICHЪ DONSKOY 8th SЄNT 1380’. The inscription on relief ‘BROTHERS DIE FOR HOMELAND, MY WORD MAY BE DONE’ is on the rise of the dish. The rim of the platter is decorated with the relief stylised foliage ornament of palmetto shoots and leaves in curls.
