A silver gilded inside baluster shaped tea caddy with detachable lid and smooth gilded stopper with ring. The body surface is covered with nielloed foliage pattern placed on repoussed background. The pattern is comprised from two ornately shaped vignettes with stylized masks and images of birds on the sides. The lid is adorned with belts of nielloed foliage-geometric pattern. The item was made for export for the American company Tiffany & Co, as evidenced by the inscription MADE FOR TIFFANY & CO. |
