Rectangular desktop notepad, with the top hinged silver cover that is fixed on black stone stand-pedestal with authentic paper block with gilt rim and side loop. Silver case with the pencil is inserted in it. The cover external surface is decorated by insert with the painted reproduction of a fragment by Elisabeth Boehm post card "Song who shall understand, that will understand the words ...". The fragment features a seated boy guslar. The insert is framed by the stylized foliage-geometric patterns executed in the technique of engraving, supplemented by decorative stones - red and blue cabochons. Monogram "ИБ" and the date "27.III.1918" are on the cover bottom. The desktop notepad is decorated in the Neo-Russian style.
