Desk inkwell made of colourless transparent crystal and featuring silver mounts with interior gilding. The spherical body of the item is decorated with deep polished faceting with a dynamic "swirl" (slanting thread) pattern. The narrow, ring-shaped neck mount is bordered by a stamped frieze with the braided pattern. The hinged, round-conical lid is adorned with parallel bands of rolled decoration consisting of stylized palmettes and raised beadwork. The flat top (finial) of the lid features an engraved commemorative date: "1905".
