Egg-shaped (ovoid) vase with the flat round flaring rim and turned-out edges, made of colourless glass with inclusions of dark oxides. The texture of the walls is decorated with the painted swirls imitating the texture of a semi-precious stone or the depths of the sea. On the front side of the body, there is a gilded relief medallion with the allegorical female profile; the frame of the medallion is shaped as an ammonite shell, symbolizing Geology born from the depths of the earth. The inscription “GEOLOGIA ILL.” is on the left side. The neck of the vase and the base of the foot are decorated with voluminous figures of horned snails executed in colored enamel.
