The vase has a stylised squid shape made of blown glass in a rich red colour merging to a darker shade at the bottom, with two curved handles on the sides. The upper part of the vase is decorated with patterns of yellow and orange glass, forming tongues of flame or feathers. The vase is mounted on a separate dark-coloured wrought iron stand with decorative scrolls at the base.
