Today we present one of the latest updates in the Authors/Manufacturers section – a story about ‘Paillard & Co’, founded in 1814, in Sainte-Croix. The company was known as the leading manufacturer of music boxes before becoming a leader in Swiss precision mechanics and ultimately creating the legendary brands Bolex and Hermès.

The section ‘Authors/Manufacturers’ features biographies of skilled watchmakers, jewellers and talented manufacturers, the life stories of composers and performers, and the history of the establishing workshops, factories and companies – the life stories and activities of those whose lives were directly connected with the unique items stored in the museum Collection.
