A new story about the Russian sculptor Mark Antokolsky

In today's issue of "Audio Stories"  cycle we will speak about Mark Antokolsky - the prominent representative of the Russian school of sculpture in the second half of the 19th century.

Mark Antokolsky became the first Russian sculptor to gain worldwide fame. His work "Tsar John Vasilyevich, the Terrible" was the first sculpture from Russia purchased by the Kensington Museum. He was born in the poor Jewish family, but by the age of thirty he had achieved success and recognition. He was especially famous for his works on the  Russian historical plots - some of them are presented in the museum collection.
