160 years since Rene Lalique birth – an artist, inventor, jeweler, glass manufacturer

Rene Lalique was called a genius during his lifetime, and is considered now. Artist, artisan, inventor, the Art Nouveau style jeweler and glass producer of the Art Deco era. He patented 16 technologies that he invented, produced the incredible number of masterpieces of international significance, and introduced new non-traditional materials and plots in jewelry. A number of his images in the Art Nouveau style received a boost in illustrations, textiles, and interior decor. Free in actions and fictions, he did not adapt to the society opinion, but changed his perception, artistic taste and foundations according to his fantasies.

For the anniversary of Rene Lalique, we have prepared an album in which photographs of his unique works from the Western European Glass Art section of the Museum collection repository are presented.

The artisan’s biography is in the section Authors.
