Sculptor EVGENY LANCERAY was born on August 24, 1848

The golden age of Russian bronze begins from the middle of the 19th century. It was the period when the small statuary became very popular among artists. Eugeny Lanceray was recognized to be one of the best in this sphere. The sculptor managed to unite “the life truth” with the academism esthetics.

Today, in commemoration of the artist’s birthday we are happy to present several works by Lanceray. Our collection of his masterpieces is considered one of the largest in the world.

The well-known works are among them, such as "The Cossack - Foragers", "Svyatoslav on his Way to Tsargrad", winter and summer "Troikas", etc. There are some unique works, mentioned only in the catalogues of exhibitions. For example, “Tulukhchi”, “The Monument to the Liberation of Bulgaria" and others.
