Snuffbox in rectangular case in the shape of a book, decorated with chased and engraved ornamentation in combination with champlevé enamel. On three sides there is Ribbed surface imitating book pages is on three lateral sides. The fourth side is decorated in the shape of a book spine with a repeating geometric ornament with four blue-white flowers and an oval medallion. Rectangular panels, guilloched with a pattern of concentric circles in thin chased frame and surrounded by a chased foliage border with a blue transparent enamel are on the top and bottom sides of the binding. A round keyhole is in the bottom side. "Sur-plateau" music movement with a programe disc with pins on one side and separate steel reeds plays one tune. The movement is activated by a lever on the book spine.
