Singing bird box in metal gold-plated case, decorated with punched patterns and painted enamel. Mountainous landscapes on the lateral surfaces, a pastoral scene is on the top panel. A miniature movement operated by the spring is mounted inside the jewellery-box. The movement activating lever is on the front side. An oval lid is in the center of the top side. When the movement is started, the lid is folded upwards and a bird in painted feathers appears from under it. The bird turns from side to side, waves the wings, opens and closes the beak. The bird’s chattering can is heard. Several seconds later the bird stops and hides. The lid goes down. The movement is made as per the scheme developed in Switzerland in 1895.

The movement is cam-type with one whistle and air bellows.
