A watch fob (fob charm) in a circular gold case. The front glazed panel is bordered by a row of pearls and features a painted polychrome enamel depiction of a watermill with mountains and hills in the background. A two-tone gold automaton is in the center: a water pump and a putto pumping water. In the foreground, a basket of flowers is on the left, and a small dog lapping water is on the right; the stream of water is simulated by a rotating glass rod. The spring-driven automaton mechanism is wound and activated by a steel slider on the rim of the case. The back cover is coated with translucent blue enamel over guilloché surface. Attached to the fob is a multi-colored gold chain adorned with eight small gilded charms in the shape of military attributes.
