The clock is housed in a rectangular polished wooden case, veneered with dark and light wood veneers, resting on a base with four corner legs. Decorative pilasters made of light wood are installed on the beveled corners of the case, featuring bases and capitals made of yellow metal. The case is topped with a flat roof featuring a wide cornice, upon which sits a wooden pinnacle in the shape of a sarcophagus. Carved wooden finials are placed at the corners of the roof and on the flat top of the sarcophagus. The concave front side of the sarcophagus is adorned with an image of musical trophies within an oval frame, created using marquetry with rosewood veneer. The side panels of the case have glazed arched windows, above which are mounted folding cast metal handles for carrying. The back of the case is closed with a glass door.

The front of the clock features an arched brass dial shield, behind a glazed door with an arched frame and recesses, covered with thin pierced black grilles. The shield is decorated with engraved images of scrolls and leaves. At the center of the shield is a wide silver-plated circular dial with an ornate minute scale and Arabic numerals for five-minute intervals, black Roman numerals for the hours interspersed with stylized lily images, a quarter-hour scale, and two filigree central hands. To the right and left of the dial are levers for the striking and chiming mechanisms. Inside the ring, near six o'clock, is a square date window, while near three o'clock and nine o'clock are round holes with square pegs for a winding key.

In the corners of the square dial shield are cast gilded overlays depicting allegorical representations of the seasons. In the arched part of the dial shield is a lunar calendar dial with Arabic numerals for the days. Inside the dial is a moon phase indicator with an engraved image of the moon set against a starry sky. Miniature images of rural and marine landscapes are engraved on the semi-circular masks of the indicator. Above the lunar calendar dial is an arched scale with the names of melodies played by the musical mechanism. Hour intervals are struck by a hammer on a large bell, while quarter hours chime in a Dutch style using two hammers on two small bells.

The musical mechanism contains a carillon made up of fourteen bells and twenty-five hammers. The programmed medium consists of a brass cylinder with pins that encodes six melodies:
    - Balle de Franse
    - Menuet En Tree
    - Menuet
    - Gavotte
    - Wilhelmus Van Nassau
    - Marcke

The music plays at the beginning of each hour, or on demand via a pull cord leading from a hole in the bottom of the case. The clock mechanisms are powered by three springs with three fusees. The clock features an eight-day winding, a spindle escapement, and a pendulum on a spring suspension. The set includes a winding handle and a key for the door.
