The famous Italian composer Cesare Andrea Bixio and lyricist Bruno Cherubini wrote this tango in 1934. The song authentic name is "Violino Tzigano" ("Gypsy violin"), it was originally written in Italian. Henri Vantard (the pseudonym of Henri Varna) and Marcel Cabridens (the pseudonym Marc -Cab») created the French version - «Un violon dans la nuit», which gained great popularity in Europe, in 1935. The French lessened the emotional color of the song by removing the gypsy music component. In the USSR, this tango was released in the late 1930’s under the name "Your song is enchanting" and was very popular before the war.
