    Inscriptions on the goldish banner: “The Graphophone/Columbia Phonograph Co./New York & London”, patent numbers and dates ranging from 1884 to 1897. On the case rear side on decalcomania: “The GRAPHOPHONE and COLUMBIA RECORDS were awarded THE GRAND PRIZE at the PARIS EXPOSITION 1900 AND ST. LOUIS EXPOSITION 1904”. On the mechanism front side: “GRAPHOPHONE”

    The nickel-plated chassis supporting the gramophone mechanism is mounted on the top cover of rectangular wooden case featuring a molded base, paneled side walls, and turned columns at the corners. A logo reading “The Graphophone” on a scrolling goldish banner is applied via decalcomania to the front side of the case.
